You are the creator of your own life; you attract the events and people into your life through your thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Many misconceptions surround this teaching, diminishing its power for both new and adept practitioners. We will reveal the truth about the five most common Law of Attraction (LOA) misbeliefs.
Myth #1: The LOA Is For Lazy, Day-Dreamy People
Skeptics mock the LOA saying: “It’s like, I’ll think about a car and magically, I’ll manifest it? Ha!” Skeptics believe you need hard work, financing and fine details, if you really want a car.
LOA, on the other hand, believes in “inspired action.” How many people do you know that work hard, yet can’t pay their rent, let alone save for a car? LOA says working like a slave isn’t the answer.
Hold the vision of a car, and believe in your ability to manifest it. Your intuition will lead you to inspired action, the kind of action that will pave the way to positive results. That’s how visionaries who created multi-million dollar businesses did it. They had a dream they believed in, even though they were poor. Believe in yourself, imagine, and follow your intuition, and you’ll manifest your dreams.
Myth #2: Affirmations Work Like Magic
Affirmations are positive statements that describe your desire. Affirmations work only when your feelings match your thoughts, and when you take inspired action, however challenging it may be.
For example, every morning you may repeat, “My relationship is getting stronger, deeper, and more meaningful every day.” Merely reciting this affirmation will not make your relationship stronger.
Check your feelings as you say the affirmation:
Does your heart agree? If not, why?
Are there trust issues that need to be mended?
Are you willing to do the work to make your relationship stronger and deeper?
For an affirmation to work, your heart and mind need to be aligned. If not, stop focusing on the affirmation, and explore the “misalignment.” What’s holding you back from improving this relationship?
Myth #3: You Can Create Anything You Want
In theory you can, but in practice maybe not. Where you are right now has a lot to do with how much manifesting you’ll have to do to get where you want to be.
If you are already dating someone and things are going well, it will be easy to imagine a future together. But if you have been single for years, and every date you’ve had was a disaster, then you have more work to do.
In this scenario, you probably have some negative expectations you need to leave behind. You need to begin by acknowledging where you are, single, and ready for something meaningful, but maybe needing to regain your trust in others. Once you acknowledge where you are in your heart and mind, it becomes much easier to manifest, because you recognize the ground on which you’re standing, right now.
Myth #4 Outside Factors Have No Power
How can you ignore an abusive partner or a toxic employer? They are there everyday, and other people and events can overpower your good intentions. The Law of Attraction is not denying your current reality, it’s just reminding you that the power to walk away from any situation belongs with you.
When you come to a moment, where you firmly state, “I’m worth more than this,” that’s when outside factors begin to lose their power. This defining moment is called your “new point of attraction”. It’s the moment when you accept and acknowledge your present reality, but you also know you’ll be moving on. It’s like tuning into a new radio station, once you make the change, the old tune is gone. Enjoy the new tune!
Myth #5 Bad Things Only Happen To Negative People
How many great people do you know that have suffered financial loss, illness, and death? At some point, everyone experiences difficult times, no matter how positive or negative their attitude may be.
